And the winners are...

They were all magnificent, but of the dozens of nominees of this year's Manchester Tourism Awards, only 13 walked away with that coveted gong that signifies their induction into the creme de la creme of tourism in the city-region. Andrew Stokes, chief executive of Marketing Manchester, presents the winners.

Access for All: The Trafford Centre.

The Trafford Centre has demonstrated they are worthy of this award. They have facilities to cater for all guests and have proved to be very understanding of individual needs.

Tourism Experience of the Year: Costumed performers at MoSI.

This innovative and fun way of presenting Manchester's background in science and the industrial revolution creates a wholesome experience at the museum.

I Love Manchester: Sapporo Teppanyaki.

The staff at the Teppanyaki provide a lively atmosphere with plenty of entertainment. The food is always wonderful and the dining experience appeals to all ages.

Large Visitor Attraction of the Year: Imperial War Museum North.

A great attraction, which draws in visitors from far and wide. The exhibitions are overly impressive and the dedication in the work of all the staff and volunteers shines through.

Taste of Manchester & Tourism Bar of the Year: The Modern (double winner).

Offering a range of dishes with locally sourced and home-grown produce, as well as service by staff who know what they are talking about, The Modern is a well-deserved winner. The bar, with its extensive and superb cocktail menu, has established itself as an excellent place to start an evening in Manchester. It's a credit to Manchester's nightlife scene.

Large Hotel of the Year & Business Tourism Award: The Lowry Hotel (double winner).

A deserved winner, the Lowry Hotel boasts a great example of quality accommodation with excellent customer service. The Lowry is more than just a hotel - they have developed business ambitions and have a clear customer-focused vision. Their world-class facilities offer services for a variety of events, from breakfast meetings to gala dinners.

Outstanding Customer Service: Mahendran Mayan - The Renaissance Hotel.

Mahendran was tipped for his passion and for ensuring that all Renaissance guests receive the best possible service and experience. A positive, genuine and caring professional, Mahendran is a real credit to the hotel industry.

Self Catering Accommodation: Blue Rainbow.

Excellent facilities and customer service along with attention to detail, such as the Braille guest book, helped Blue Rainbow to triumph in this emerging market.

Small Visitor Attraction of the Year: Museum of the Manchester Regiment.

The museum in Ashton-under-Lyne brings the history of the Manchester Regiment and its soldiers to life, with lively exhibits and interactive displays.

Small Hotel/Bed & Breakfast: Brooklands Lodge.

A true gem set in Manchester's leafy suburb of Sale. Brooklands Lodge provides a warm welcome, comfortable surroundings and buckets full of enthusiasm from its owners Steve and Angela.

Sustainable Tourism Award: Radisson SAS Manchester Airport.

A great example to the region's tourism industry. Radisson SAS have been recognised for their responsible working environment, receiving silver in the Green Business Tourism Scheme.

Tourism Retailer of the Year: Bolton Market.

Bolton Market was praised for its successful efforts in attracting customers from outside of Bolton, with a variety of incentives and activities. A retailer which truly works hard throughout the year.

Tourism Event of the Year: Manchester Pride.

Manchester's annual lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) festival has been putting the city on the map for almost two decades. Pride is constantly breaking boundaries, raising £105,000 for local charities last year.
