FIND OUT MOREAnother champagne and cocktail fuelled bash hosted by my chipper and raucous friends Alison Hibbert and Kirsten Marshall together with my chaperones Jonathan and Idris was the event of the month at Croma, Chorton. The party was crammed with the cream of the south side jet set and the city movers and shakers of the Manchester glitterati. The freshly baked pizzas and the 'jumping from the garden and into the bowl' salads filled my belly to the top - an elegant fusion of taste coupled with fancy winter cocktails.
Reminiscent of a grand baronial Scottish castle, walls lined of thistle and the largest lamp shades on the planet aptly describes the awe-inspiring interior of the latest in Manchester eateries - Room, King Street. Again another free bar of champagne and cocktails, entertained by my dear party friends Emma James, James Hickman, Flic and Simon to name but a fewthe launch party of another triumphant restaurant - book early for the sexy window booths!
My overnight guests are now treated to an experience of waking up on the finest linen Vienna bedclothes money can buy - with an unbelievable thread count of 112! The White Company, King Street, is my new second home and the receiver of my home ware purchases. A new pure cashmere blanket now keeps me warm and comforted during the winter nights and so it should do at a cost of 595 - the most extravagant cuddle I have ever experienced!
Winter scarves and mittens are the only apt accessory required for my next venture around the city - The European Markets on Albert Square. Enjoy one of the many alfresco snacks on offer including continental sausages, German beer, crpes, fresh fruit kebabs dipped in chocolate, warming Glhwein and hot chocolate laced with brandy - a daily cheeky excuse for a drink!
'The city of Goats' is reputed by Ken Hom to be the best Cantonese restaurant in the country - the phonetic translation would reveal this famed eatery to be the Yang Sing on Princess Street. A very elegant event was delivered by Daniel Allman and Paul Pyke of the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce at the Yang Sing banqueting suite - a fusion of the Far East with contemporary styling to suit any occasion of any calibre. Those takeaway favourites presented by the best Cantonese chefs in the country make this a top favourite.
